Some people look for a little piece of luck everywhere they go, but not everyone finds it. That’s not the case of Kalel Langford, who was able to find a pretty cool object out of sheer luck!
For a long time, visitors of the Crater of Diamonds in an Arkansas State Park hope to get lucky and find a diamond rock, since the area used to be a diamond mine back in the day.
The teen had been in the park with his family for less than 30-minutes when he spotted a sparkling brown stone on the ground of the size of the pinto bean. The 14-year-old immediately recognized it could be something special.
Along with his family, Kalel brought the brown stone to be inspected by the park staff. They were all astonished to learn that what the boy found was actually a 7.44 carat brown diamond, the seventh largest to be found in the park.
Lucky for Kalel, the park has a policy of ”finders keepers”, which means that he will get to keep the precious stone.
He named it ”Superman Diamond” after his favorite comic book character, who also shares his name, Kal-El. He plans to keep the diamond as a souvenir of his trip.
