We often hear that cats are greedy and only show indifference to their pet parents. While it’s true that some cats are more independent emotionally than others, it’s not a rare occasion to find a cat that shows love to their human as much as a dog does, minus the face licking.
Cats are often subtle when showing affection. A cat person would know that just by them simply coming to sit on your lap, you are their chosen one.
About a year ago, Yuuki, a sweet black cat was waiting for someone to come to the Cleveland Animal Protective League shelter to adopt her and bring her to a forever home.
A Forever Loving Home For Yuuki
Max Nimrichter, a 19-year-old, adopted Yuuki. He enlisted to serve in the U.S. Navy and thought having a cat around to make his mom company would soften his absence while away from home. For six months, Max was able to build an unbreakable bond with his kitty. Yuuki quickly chose him as her favorite human.
When time came for Max to leave for boot camp, Yuuki didn’t quite understand. She clearly missed him and never stopped loving her human. In time, she found a way to remember and stay close to him. She often visits an area where there’s a framed photo of Max and just sits there looking at his picture, as to take comfort on seeing him.
Erin Nimrichter, Max’s mom, recorded the sweet moment. ‘’She just sits there, stares and meows and then lays down next to the picture to nap,” she said to The Dodo. “I know for sure she misses him.”‘ ’Max has always felt connections to any animals he was around. He’s a sweetheart.’’
