Easy DIY Kitchen Hand Scrub For Dried Hands

Cooking can be a lot of fun, especially when you’re trying a new recipe and get to taste all the flavors of what’s going in it. Once in a while, we hit a flop that wouldn’t be fit for human consumption, but hey, we’re not trained chefs, so we can get away with it.

The only downside of cooking is what comes after, the cleaning part. I haven’t met a person who looks forward to that dreadful chore. But somebody’s gotta do it, and most of the time, it’s you. If you cook often and you’re not used to wearing cleaning gloves, you probably have dried and cracked hands as well as brittle nails, due to the constant washing and use of liquid soaps that strip hands of their natural oils, therefore leaving them dry and rough.

Natural Approach To Skincare

Using simple ingredients that you have laying around your kitchen, you can make this awesome Natural Hand Scrub, that will not only remove unwanted smells from your hand (hello, garlic!), but also smooth, soften and hydrate your skin.

This natural moisturizing hand scrub uses only 5 ingredients known to revitalize and hydrate your hands. Its main ingredients are Lemon, Epsom Salt and Coconut Oil. Lemon is widely used in the beauty industry for its antiseptic properties and offers many benefits for your skin; Epsom Salt is rich in minerals that fight inflammation and removes unwanted dead skin cells while coconut oil moisturizes and nourishes the driest os skins and cuticles.

This Kitchen Hand Scrub smells so good you’ll want to eat it! It also makes it an inexpensive gift to someone who may also be experiencing the same issues.

P.S. Do not use it if your skin is badly cracked and burning. Heal it first with a deep moisturizer, like Aquaphor.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • ½ Cup of Sugar
  • ½ Cup Epsom Salt
  • ½ Cup Unrefined Coconut Oil
  • Zest of 1 Large Lemon
  • 2 Tbsp Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
  • 2 Small Mason Jars

How To Make It:

  • In a medium bowl, gently mix all the ingredients together and scoop it inside the mason jars.
  • Keep it tightly closed and leave it by the kitchen sink for when your hands feel like they need a little extra TLC.
