They say lightning never strikes the same place twice. While some women share a few physical traits with their mothers and grandmothers, it is hard to find the same characteristics in every generation.
Brianna Worthy, from South Carolina, inherited an amazing genetic trait from her mother’s women line. The women are born with a white streak of hair that can be traced back to her grandmother, Joanne. Since her grandmother was adopted and didn’t know her biological family, they are unsure of how far back the genetic trait goes.
Their birthmark is a result of a condition called Poliosis, which causes someone to develop white hair patches in the head, eyelashes or eyebrow, as well as have a lighter patch of skin surrounding the affected area.
That didn’t seem to bother Brianna and when she got pregnant she hoped her daughter would share the same trait. In an interview with the Daily Mail, she said: ”I was hoping she did have it. My younger sister didn’t get it, so I didn’t know if MilliAnna was going to, but once I had her and they laid her on my chest and I saw she had it I was so happy.”
MilliAnna is now an 18-month-old sweet little girl that gets to enjoy all the attention her one-of-a-kind hair attracts. Her mom couldn’t be prouder of her mini-me!
Brianna plans to raise her daughter to learn how unique she is and learn to embrace the family trait as she gets older.
”I had several names such as skunk that kids would try to insult me with as a child. Sometimes it would bother me when I was younger, but I grew to end up really loving it in my hair and was confident that it was my own unique signature look.” she said.
”I plan to raise my daughter knowing she is beautiful and special and to not listen to people mean comments at times.”
