How To Clean A Badly Burned Pan Using A Dryer Sheet

Kitchen mishaps happen more often than not. We can deal with the burned food, but dealing with the burned pan is a whole new nightmare in itself, since most of the time, the bottom of the pan is burned beyond recognition.

Since not all of us have arms of steel to scrub down the scorched mess with our bare hands, we have to resort to some sort of trick to help us clean the mess with the littlest amount of effort, which can be attained.

Stainless steel pans are beautiful, but they are also a pain to clean if you ever cook something for a little too long. There are many techniques out there to help you clean them up, mainly using dish soap and baking soda, but it works randomly, often needing some scrub down.

So what’s the easiest way to get that hard black crust on the bottom of the pan staring at you?

You’ll only need two things: dish soap and a dryer sheet. We couldn’t believe it either, but it works like magic!

All you need to do is:

  • Wipe excess oils from the pan
  • Fill it with hot water
  • Add about a teaspoon of dish soap and mix it in the water
  • Add a dryer sheet
  • Set a timer and let it soak for an hour
  • Discard the water and use the dryer sheet to wipe down the burnt pan.
  • The burnt part should turn into a sludge, coming out easily.

Who would’ve thought that a simple dryer sheet could come to the rescue?
